So what did you do this weekend?

I had a busy weekend. First I enjoyed capturing the Skyline Coyotes crush the Carl Hayden Falcons 59-0 Friday night, then I spent the entire day Saturday at Edgefest shooting bands like Civet and Pennywise (pictured here), Mickey Avalon, The Flobots, The Airborne Toxic Event, Thrice and others for my first freelance Phoenix New Times assignment. Sunday I had a shoot with local metal band Hemoptysis and then spent about seven hours reviewing and editing photos.

These are the kind of weekends a workaholic trigger happy photographer lives for!

Oh yeah. I also finally set the ISO on my D700 to 6400 on a gig (the football game). I was hesitant at first, but now...I am impressed.

Vistalance - Martini Ranch - 08.21.08

Vistalance. These guys put on a a great energetic show. This was my first concert gig where I got to use my new Nikon 14-24mm 2.8. What a great lens! :) But I guess it better be for $1600.00. I also used my new Sigma 70mm. I think it's the best lens I've found for under $500.00. A little slow focusing at times but it's sharp and beautiful!

Seventy Three - Elevate

I just finished the CD artwork for Seventy Three "Elevate". The cover image was an existing image of mine entitled "Hope" that they requested for the cover. I modified it slightly and then based the rest of the artwork for the CD around it. The CD can be purchased and sampled at http://cdbaby.com/cd/seventythree2

The limited edition print of Hope can be purchased at www.eyefulimages.com.

Photography. AT NIGHT!

I just returned from a few fun days in San Diego with my wife and kids. While there I sneaked out at night (no, I didn't really sneak) to do some night photography. Here are a few of my favorites of Ocean Beach coastline and a view of San Diego skyline.
